Seats

You got stains on your seats. There are different ways of cleaning that up. You can use a specific stain remover to remove the stains, or you can use the upholstery cleaner on a carpet cleaner unit to maintain the seats regularly.

There are unsightly stains on your cloth car seats and you need an affordable and easy way to remove them. Unlike with vinyl or leather car seats, it’s impossible to wipe off these stains with just a disposable hand cloth or cleansing wipe. It requires an adequate cleaning solution and a little bit of elbow grease to remove these stubborn stains.

Just like with most stains, once they set in, it is hard to get rid of them. This is why it is important to clean them as soon as possible.  Chances are you have tried to remove many of these stains before.  They are the result of the following:

  • The backseat is filled with stains created by your children.  There are plenty of ketchup, mustard, chocolate and other hard to clean food stains. There are also crayon and pen marks everywhere.
  • As a pet owner, there are pet stains left behind by family pets.  Not only can pets leave behind unappealing stains, but many times these stains have a bad odor as well.
  • Maybe you are the owner of a second-hand car, and these stains were made by the previous owner. Unlike with the stains that were made by your family and pets, you are at a disadvantage with these stains. This is because you do not know the original source of these stains.  So, finding the right cleaning solution is even more cumbersome.

Cleaning your car’s cloth seats should be a huge priority. Not only do these stains make your car’s upholstery look bad, but they are also a constant reminder that your children are being exposed to lingering germs.  Eliminate the stains for hygienic reasons. In addition, think about the resale value of your car.

These cleaners are very effective and is the best way to maintain a car seat in the long run. Just use your carpet cleaner unit when it is time to refresh your upholstery, this removes the bad smell from the cloth and will keep your car looking great, smelling great and free from germs.

However, many car owners might be tempted to use their own homemade cleaners and soaps.  But, this should be done sparingly.

Keep in mind that car cleaners are formulated to not only clean your car, but also make the process much easier.  When using your own cleaners you have to guess as to how much cleaner to use, how long to let the cleaner sit and when to rinse the soiled area.

For instance, if you use too much cleaner, it could result in a huge soapy patch that takes too long to dry.  Once dry, the soiled area could be covered in white dry patches because too much soap was used.

In addition, there is also the possibility that the wrong cleaner could fade the color of the seats.  So, choose wisely and stick with cleaning products that are designed to clean cloth car seats.

Maintain your upholstery

All in all, stained car seats look and smell bad and will definitely diminish the resale value of your car. Knowing how to clean cloth car seats is not hard to do.  Find a cleaning solution that is formulated to clean them and follow the directions. Eliminate the stains, restore your car’s beauty and increase its overall value.
